MPs Raise Tissue Freezing Access at Health Oral Questions
At this week's Health Oral Questions, two MPs raised the difficulty brain cancer patients can face accessing tissue freezing across the country.
We are very grateful to Sharon Hodgson MP and Jonathan Brash MP for using their oral question to spotlight a simple but urgent point: access to brain tumour tissue freezing should not depend on where a patient lives.
When tissue isn’t routinely flash frozen, patients can lose the chance to benefit from advanced diagnostics, personalised treatment pathways and research that saves lives.
We are also encouraged by Minister Ashley Dalton’s responses, including her commitment to explore current arrangements and options for change, and we are delighted that she will be meeting Ellie later this month to discuss the issue further.
