Campaign for Owain’s Law meets Minister for Cancer to discuss tissue-freezing postcode lottery
This week, the Campaign for Owain’s Law met with Sharon Hodgson MP, the Minister for Cancer, to discuss the tissue-freezing postcode lottery facing brain cancer patients across the UK. The Campaign is grateful to the Minister for taking the time to meet and listen to the experiences and concerns raised. We would also like to thank Chris Evans MP for his continued support for the Campaign and for joining Ellie in the meeting.
Tissue freezing after brain tumour surgery can open the door to personalised treatments, clinical trials and cutting-edge research. However, access to this vital step remains inconsistent across the UK, meaning some patients may miss out simply because of where they are treated.
The Campaign for Owain’s Law will continue working to ensure that no brain cancer patient misses out on modern treatment and research options because of a postcode lottery.
