Bringing Owain’s Law to the Senedd
The Campaign for Owain's Law visited the Welsh Senedd to call on Members and Party leaders across all parties to help end the tissue freezing postcode lottery that is affecting cancer patients right across Wales. Thousands of patients may be missing out on life-extending treatments and clinical trials simply because of how their tumour tissue was stored after surgery.
The scale of the problem cannot be understated. In Wales, only one in four people with stage 4 brain cancer will be alive a year after their diagnosis. Inconsistencies in how tumour tissue is stored are limiting access to modern diagnostics, personalised treatments, and clinical trials for patients who need every possible option available to them.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who took the time to meet us at the Senedd, hear Owain's story, and stand alongside cancer patients and their families across Wales.
